Frequently Asked Questions
What specific advantages does your background as an airline transport pilot bring to your drone photography compared to competitors?
My experience as a airline transport pilot gives me a unique edge over other drone photographers. Years in the cockpit have taught me to read the sky, anticipate changing conditions, and capture the world from perspectives most people never see. For me, flying is about freedom and tranquility—soaring above the noise and chaos below. I bring that same sense of calm and precision to every project, ensuring a smooth, stress-free collaboration from start to finish. My clients appreciate not just the quality of my aerial imagery, but also how easy and enjoyable the process feels.
What makes your drone photography service different from others?
I bring a process-driven approach to every project, focusing on every detail for your comfort and safety. My passion for AI software technology, data processing, cloud storage, and optimizing customer experience ensures exceptional aerial imagery and professional drone services, delivered with unmatched precision.
How does your specific background give customers a unique benefit they won't find elsewhere?
What sets my lens apart is the grit and determination behind it. When a medical setback closed the door to a Navy flying career, I refused to let that define my future. Instead, I hustled—working three jobs at once to earn my airline transport license and then building my own aviation businesses from scratch. Over 23 years, I’ve flown thousands of hours, led a team of instructors, and earned the trust of clients who return year after year because they know I deliver on my promises.
This journey taught me to see obstacles as opportunities and to persist where others might give up. As both a seasoned pilot and a business leader, I bring a rare perspective: I know how to anticipate challenges, navigate complex situations, and ensure every client’s experience is not just safe, but exceptional. My approach is hands-on and deeply personal—I map out every detail of your project, combining technical expertise with a genuine commitment to your goals.
Whether I’m capturing aerial views for real estate, showcasing horse properties, or providing airline transport pilot imagery, my clients benefit from a level of dedication and resilience that goes far beyond what most photographers can offer. I don’t just deliver photos; I build lasting partnerships, ensuring your vision is realized—no matter the obstacles.

To get the most out of our project, consider the following 5 tips. If you need help defining your project, we can help.
- Define Your Vision and Shot List
- Identify key features or subjects to highlight.
- Specify desired angles or perspectives (e.g., top-down, orbit).
- List must-have and nice-to-have shots.
- Share any reference images or videos.
- Secure Permissions and Notify Parties
- Confirm you have access rights for the location.
- If near airports or restricted areas, inform us early so we can check for flight restrictions and obtain waivers if needed.
- Notify anyone who may be present or affected by the drone flight.
- Prepare the Location
- Remove unwanted items or vehicles from the scene.
- Tidy up the area (mow lawns, clear debris) as needed.
- Inform us of any hazards (power lines, trees, animals).
- Ensure people to be filmed are ready.
- Plan for Timing and Weather
- Discuss the best time of day for lighting.
- Be flexible—drone flights depend on weather. Have a backup date if needed.
- Designate a Point of Contact
- Assign one main contact for the shoot day.
- Be available for feedback or approvals or communicate your vision clearly if you can’t be present.
James and I first came in contact in 2014 when I requested he provide me with recurrent aviation training. As his student and as Instructor Pilot myself, I have had an opportunity to observe his instructional methodology, relator skills, and overall demeanor and to evaluate his knowledge and preparation of the subject matter. I would rate James’ overall performance as outstanding. He has superb grasp on his subject matter and provides the ideal environment for his students to learn. I would rate him on par or even better than many of my former instructors in the United States Navy.
